Track 1. Students should choose between:
Option 1. Humanitarian Engineering
This track includes two preparatory (live) sessions in May/June.
Overview of the humanitarian sector and issues at stake, project cycle in humanitarian contexts, application of engineering competencies to the aid’s sector, work in groups on a case study.
or
Option 2. Artificial Intelligence
Overview of fundamental AI concepts, implementation of the acquired concepts
in a project, and a visit to an AI-related company.
Track 2. French Language and Cross-Cultural Communication
Track 2 is compulsory.
Introduction to French as a foreign language and development of intercultural competence.
Program Overview
Activities
- Guided tour of Lyon
- Dinner in a typical French restaurant
- 2 day trips, such as a visit to the Beaujolais region, a guided tour of the city of Avignon in the South of France, Chamonix in the French Alps...
- Wine tasting
- Party with INSA students
- Farewell evening
Depending on a variety of factors, activities may change.
Who can apply
- For the Humanitarian Engineering option, priority is given to graduate students with a specialization in Humanitarian Engineering, but all interested Science and Engineering students are invited to apply
- The Artificial Intelligence option is an entry level course open to all Science and Engineering students at undergraduate or graduate level
- French language classes in Track 2 are divided into groups from beginners to advanced-level students

Costs
- Full cost: € 4,200
- Exchange cost: € 1,800
Check with your mobility coordinator within your university if we have an agreement and if the exchange cost applies.
Costs include half-board:
- Shared accommodation
- Breakfasts, lunches and some dinners from Monday to Friday
- Participation and transport for all leisure activities organized by INSA Lyon
- Return trip from the airport of Lyon (Saint-Exupéry airport) to the campus
- They do not cover plane tickets and personal activities on weekends.
