Bacterial adaptation to environmental changes requires a rapid reorganization of expression pattern of their genome. This adaptive response, which is critical for both bacterial survival and pathogenicity, is mediated by specific transcription factors, DNA supercoiling and global regulators represented by abundant nucleoid-associated-proteins (NAPs), which constrain supercoils and modulate both the chromatin structure and the transcription of numerous genes.

The electrification of means of transport involves the development of converters from battery DC voltage to AC voltage for motors. Increasing the performance of these power converters requires very high performance power electronic components, such as Gallium Arsenide (GaN) transistors. The consequence is a very high power density to be dissipated as heat (> 500 W/cm2).

This project aims at establishing post-processing methods for a better understanding of the mechanical and anisotropic fracture behavior of nacre-like ceramic composites. These methods will couple two full-field measurement approaches, namely Raman spectroscopy for local stress field measurement and digital image correlation (DIC) for local strain field measurement. This coupling will be set-up during in situ mechanical testing.

With proven effects on the environment and health, synthetic polymer microparticles usually called microplastics (MPs) can accumulate in the food chain, release toxic substances or serve as vectors for other contaminants and pathogens. Urban areas are major sources and pathways for the transfer of MPs to water bodies. Their transfer to the natural environment involves complex transport processes through runoff and stormwater management systems.

In this project, we challenge ourselves to increase the accuracy of trajectory tracking for cable-driven parallel robots (CDPRs) in additive manufacturing (AM) and to ensure the geometric quality of the produced parts. Indeed, our objective is to develop CDPRs with static and dynamic performance levels that meet the requirements of high-quality and high-productivity AM with a resolution of 0.1 mm.

In prokaryotes, the frequency of amino acids in proteomes is strongly correlated with the optimal growth temperature (OGT), but the associated substitutional patterns and their dynamics remain poorly understood. The ThermAdapt project addresses these two important issues through an original approach combining genomics, ancestral sequence reconstructions, structural modeling, experimental biology, and persistent homology. The ThermAdapt projects aims at:

As a biocompatible semiconductor composed of abundant elements, ZnO has received a huge interest for a wide variety of electronic, optoelectronic, chemical, and biological sensing applications. Thanks to its high PZ coefficients as a semiconductor, the integration of ZnO into PZ devices such as PZ nano-generators and/or pressure/strain sensors has extensively been considered in the last decade.
