Life on campus

Sporting life

Lyon Tech campus (la Doua) offers a wide range of sports infrastructure that can be used by student-engineers.

Facilitated by 18 specialist Sports and Physical Education teachers, the Sports Centre has four missions:

  • to provide sports and physical education supervision.
  • to facilitate the Sports Association.
  • to look after high-level sports students.
  • to coordinate technological research applied to sports equipment.

Physical and sports education

Physical and Sports Education is an integral part of a student-engineer's training.
In this context, marks are included in the student's general assessment.

The sports association

volley-ball

This includes students who wish to specialize in a sports activity. Its main task is to run weekly (or more often) training sessions and to participate in the French University Sports Federation championships.

About a third of the Institute’s overall student body are members of the Sports Association.

The association's sporting results are extremely good, with numerous French championship titles being won each year.

In several disciplines, INSA Lyon's students are selected for French university teams which participate in various University World Championships and in the Universiades.
