In numerous fields (e.g., material sciences, medical imaging), non-invasive acquisition devices such as magnetic resonance, X-ray tomography or microtomography are required for observation, measurements or diagnostic aids. These acquisition devices usually generate volumic data, i.e., 3D images, composed of regularly spaced data in a cuboidal domain. 3D volumes come from the segmentation of such 3D images. They can also be generated from scientific modelling because numerous simulation schemes rely on the regularity of the data support.

Cardiac valve diseases are known to be an important public-health problem. Mitral Valve (MV) regurgitation (MR), also known as mitral insufficiency, is one of the most important of them. The regurgitation is either caused by a pathology of the valve itself (primary MR), or it is the consequence of a pathology of the myocardium (secondary MR).

Pesticides are intensively used to protect cereals from pests, but they are known to increase pest resistance and affect the environment and non-target organisms, including humans, which points to the need for sustainable alternatives. Some of the main cereal pests are the weevil Sitophilus spp., which proliferate on a cereal-exclusive diet thanks to a mutualistic association with the intracellular symbiotic bacterium (endosymbiont), which provides the insect the nutrients that are scarce in the grains.

Tribology has a major role to play to reduce the total energy consumption worldwide. Yet, the lubricant behavior in extreme conditions is poorly known, and therefore unpredictable. In this project, we propose to couple a Brillouin Light Scattering set up with a tribometer to carry in situ spectroscopy characterization of lubricants in a highly confined contact. This experimental approach will lead to simultaneously measure the thermodynamic state of the lubricant, its structural dynamics and the resulting macroscopic friction causing high energy dissipation.
Rodent management is essential for health and economicissues. The only molecules approved by authorities and known to efficiently control rats andmice are 4-hydroxycoumarin (i.e., coumatetralyl, bromadiolone, difenacoum, brodifacoum,difethialone, flocoumafen) and 1,3-indandione (i.e., chlorophacinone) derivatives which areanticoagulant rodenticides (AR).
