Internship abroad

Discovering an international economic environment, specific working methods and adapting to multicultural situations are key factors in an engineer's training. This is why an industrial internship abroad is strongly recommended.

Lasting from two to six months, it is part of the of the 9 training sections, either at the end of the first or second year of specialisation, or at the start or end of the third and final year.

Generally, the student completes a project in a team according to a previously determined subject linked to the studies. A trilateral internship agreement is drawn up by the student's department, and the student must provide a report at the end of the internship. An evaluation is filled out by the student's internship tutor. During these internships, relations are often developed between the company and the INSA Lyon laboratories.

In 2018/2019, 12% of internships in the engineering course were carried out in private companies abroad.
