THE Impact Rankings are the only ones to evaluate, at the international level, universities in relation to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, gathered in the 2030 Agenda.
The criteria for the global ranking are: reputation among peers, reputation among employers, student leadership, research impact, and internationalisation of staff and students.

Shanghai Ranking
The Jiao-tong Shanghai University Ranking, known as the Shanghai Ranking, was launched in 2003 by a team of researchers with the aim of measuring the gap between Chinese universities and international institutions. Despite its limited criteria and focus on STEM, it remains a benchmark ranking at the international level.
The criteria of the Shanghai Ranking are the number of Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, the number of publications in Science & Nature, the number of most cited researchers, the number of articles indexed in the Science Citation Index and Social Sciences Citation Index, the academic performance measured by five indicators and divided by the number of teacher-researchers.
