Un événement est co-financé par les universités lyonnaises, l'EUR H20 et l'UMR 5600 EVS

Cet évènement international rassemblera des doctorant.e.s quelle que soit leur année d’inscription et de jeunes chercheur.e.s ayant récemment soutenu une thèse en sciences sociales ou humaines : économie, droit, sociologie, psychologie, anthropologie, sciences politiques, sciences de gestion, géographie, histoire, histoire de l’art, archéologie, philosophie.

L’objectif est de dresser un panorama des recherches récentes ou en cours et de mettre en réseau les jeunes chercheur.e.s sur la question « Eaux et sociétés » avec une pluralité d’approches et de questionnements. Conférences plénières, travail en sessions, film, présentation d’ouvrages etc. seront autant de formes pour en débattre.

Objective: Highlight concrete opportunities female have to carry on successful carrers in Computer Science and Engineering.

Attendees: Young female students, engineers and researchers, and senior female scientists and engineers, both from academia and industry.

The aim of the LAM conferences is to attract scientists working in the field of liquid and amorphous metals in order to discuss new advances and future directions in this intriguing field of condensed matter physics, chemistry and materials sciences.

This new edition will be the opportunity for broadening the purposes of the conference series to non-metallic materials, such as molecular glasses, polymers and colloids thus encouraging the interdisciplinary among different disordered materials fields, exploring universality of the observed properties, and stimulating novel discussions and collaborations among scientists from different communities. An accent will be given to breakthroughs and advances from cutting-edge large facilities as synchrotron radiation, neutrons and free-electron lasers facilities, for encouraging the community in exploring the potential of these advanced techniques for progressing in the understanding of liquid and amorphous materials.

The aim of these three days is to present a state of the art as well as on-going researches on most issues and aspects of flow-induced vibration and noise.

flinovia is a group of researchers who focus their research activities on the structural excitation by turbulent flows, including turbulent boundary layers, ingested turbulence, free and impinging jets, and other turbulent shear layers. Structural response, including vibration, stress, as well as sound re-radiation are of particular interest.

The original idea is to group the persons working on these topics in a light format in order to give enough importance to the exchanges of ideas, to promote collaborations and suggest a high level of cross-fertilisation.

Around 30 renowned researchers are invited to present their work during a 30 minutes speech. After the conference the contributed papers will be published in a book edited by Springer as for the previous editions of FLINOVIA.

For almost 40 years, Luc Schuiten, a passionate Belgian architect who came up with the unique concepts of archiborescence and ‘plant cities’, has been inventing new, resilient and poetic places to live, based on the observation of nature.

During a unique evening conference, organised as part of the Novatech 2019 conference, Luc Schuiten will open up new perspectives on the place of water in the city of tomorrow. He will take an atypical and imaginative look at the relationship between humans and their natural environment.

To mark the occasion, Luc Schuiten proposes the creation of a print to commemorate Lyon, water and the city. He will sign and number offprints on drawing paper (50x70cm). A pre-sale is available upon registration.

Ces journées d'étude, organisées par l’UMR 5600 Environnement Ville Société (EVS), visent à confronter des travaux de recherche qui, partant des objets, traitent des questions sociales, urbaines et environnementales.

Ces objets se révèlent multiples dans leurs échelles et leurs fonctions : mobiliers urbains, maison, automobile, plans, etc. Ces journées d'étude n'ont pas vocation à définir une approche par les objets, mais à appréhender une pluralité d’approches et à les situer dans le champ des études urbaines et plus largement des études sur l’anthropocène. Pour cela, elles s’organisent autour d’interventions de chercheurs issus de différentes disciplines (urbanisme, philosophie, anthropologie, etc.). Les journées d’étude ont été labellisées par le CNRS dans le cadre des 80 ans de l’institution. Elles sont financées par l’UMR 5600 EVS et l’INSA Lyon.

Accessibility understood as a category of the quality of the built environment, in its broad sense, considering the perception, understanding and use of spaces,from a user-centered design approach

The existence of spaces “free of barriers” does not contemplate the set of aspects that involve the accessibility in building environment. It is necessary to consider other dimensions: communicational, methodological, instrumental, programmatic and attitudinal; as important as the architectural one; and allow the user to understand their function, organization and spatial relationships, as well as to perceive and participate in the activities that occur there. Brazilian legislation provides for the autonomy of persons with disabilities or with reduced mobility, in the exercise of their citizenship rights. The set of researches developed by the LACESSE team studies the user-centered design process, considering its participation, as well as a multidisciplinary professional collaboration; in order to guarantee accessibility as an essential category of quality.

l'Ecole Urbaine de Lyon organise une série de séminaire sur l'approche anthropocène. Le 18 juin, le séminaire portera sur la biodiversité.

Le terme biodiversité a largement migré hors de la sphère scientifique. Ce succès n’a pas été accompagné d’un effort méthodologique et théorique à la hauteur des enjeux, si bien que les discours à ce propos restent approximatifs et plus guidés par l’émotion que par une réflexion scientifique solide.
