10th year of Novatech
International meeting on strategies and solutions for sustainable water management in the city, with a focus on urban rainwater.
In a context marked by an intensification of urban development and climate change that makes the future uncertain, rainwater management is a major challenge that calls for innovative responses, based on the latest research results and tested in the field.
Some of the challenges at the heart of Novatech’s discussions include considering and implementing strategies on the scale of catchment areas; better characterising water in rainy periods; and designing and managing alternative works to major sanitation networks and integrating them into urban and landscape development to make water management a key component of sustainable cities.

Imagining the city of tomorrow together with Luc Schuiten
For almost 40 years, Luc Schuiten, a passionate Belgian architect who came up with the unique concepts of archiborescence and ‘plant cities’, has been inventing new, resilient and poetic places to live, based on the observation of nature.
During a unique evening conference, organised as part of the Novatech 2019 conference, Luc Schuiten will open up new perspectives on the place of water in the city of tomorrow. He will take an atypical and imaginative look at the relationship between humans and their natural environment.
To mark the occasion, Luc Schuiten proposes the creation of a print to commemorate Lyon, water and the city. He will sign and number offprints on drawing paper (50x70cm). A pre-sale is available upon registration.
Meet at 6.30pm on Wednesday 3 July, under the big top of the Imagine circus, in Vaulx-en-Velin.
