Meeting our Spanish partners

Madrid, Valence and Castellón de la Plana polytechnic universities.

A delegation from INSA Lyon travelled to Spain between June 7 and 10, 2011 to renew the agreements with the polytechnic universities in Madrid (UPM), Valencia (UPV) and Castellón (UJI).

This delegation comprised Hugues Benoit-Cattin (Telecommunications), Benyebka Bou-Saïd (Mechanical Engineering and Development), Irini Djeran-Maigre (Civil Engineering and Urban Planning), Danielle Faucheux (Humanities), Robert Laurini (Information Technologies) and Mauricette Ortu (Humanities).

As Spain had chosen the “grado” at a BAC+4 (High School Diploma + 4 years) level and the Master Degree at a BAC+6 level, it was essential to see how student exchanges and double diplomas would be implemented as the “grado” is an incontrovertible must for pursuing a Master’s Degree in Engineering in Spain. As such, a scheme incorporating three diplomas is now proposed (the Spanish grado, INSA’s engineering degree and a Spanish Master’s).

In addition, the idea of integrating EURUJI students (International Degree in Engineering) in the INSA Lyon 2nd cycle (graduate course) was mentioned. This concerns all students who have completed their undergraduate studies abroad (Premier cycle à l’étranger (PCE)) or who fall under international agreements of this type that are currently in effect.
