The "Karnaval Humanitaire" celebrates its 20th year
From 17 to 24 March 2012 on the Lyon Tech La Doua Campus
For the 20th year in succession, the "Karnaval Humanitaire" association is organising a solidarity week on the Lyon Tech La Doua Campus. For its 20th anniversary, three marquees will be installed on the campus' lawns.
The week's programme includes conferences, concerts, a forum of associations, artistic shows and, naturally, the traditional "Fancy-dress Parade".
This year, the theme of the parade will be "les voyageurs du ciel" (the sky travellers). For the occasion, a partnership with the "Grandes Personnes de Boromo" (Tall People of Boromo), builders of giant puppets in Burkina Faso, has been formed. A roaming show and the sound of marching bands and batacuba music will accompany the parade of floats. This year the association has created a special edition. The festival will last two extra days. This anniversary event will open with an energetic folk dance, followed by a day devoted to street arts. This dynamic atmosphere will continue in the evenings with Balkan, reggae, electro-swing and dubstep music shows. And let us not forget that the Karnaval also organises circus acts, theatre and a whole range of different types of shows for young and old.
