EVS-ITUS (UMR 5600) Laboratory

First philosophy of science thesis at INSA Lyon

Léo Coutellec, a young researcher in the Philosophy of Science at INSA Lyon working in the EVS-ITUS (UMR 5600) Laboratory, conducted an inter-disciplinary study into the question of genetically-modified fish. The Dogmatis project was the study focus for his philosophy of science thesis, supervised by Anne-Françoise Schmid (a philosopher and epistemologist at INSA Lyon) and which he defended in December 2011. Entitled "Conditions et portée d'une intégrité épistémique et éthique des sciences - Éclairages à partir de la question des poissons génétiquement modifiés", (Conditions and scope of epistemic and ethical integrity of sciences - Insights based on the issue of genetically-modified fish), this is the first philosophy of science thesis at INSA Lyon.
