9th Competition for the Promotion of Business Ethics

Special distinction for Robin Kuhn, engineering student in the Telecoms Department

140 students from 14 Grandes Ecoles and Universities took part in the 9th Competition for the Promotion of Business Ethics at the Academy of Lyon.

This was the ninth consecutive year of the Competition, organised jointly by the French Rotary districts and the Conference of Grandes Ecoles and aimed at higher education students at baccalaureate + 3 years and post-graduate doctoral students. The Competition is intended to encourage them to take ethical considerations into account as they approach their entry into professional life, inviting them to define their own values in order to build tomorrow’s societies.

Of the 59 essays received (60 % more than the previous year), 20 were collective efforts and 6 submitted by foreign students. The level of the results is excellent.

• 1st prize was awarded to Florence Mazeau of EMLyon for her essay “Management Ethics and Management”
• 2nd prize went to Baptiste Moreau of the School of Mines in St Etienne for “Business Ethics, a new marketing tool”
• 3rd prize was shared ex-aequo by Vincent Bourdel of EM Lyon for “The New Little Prince” and Pernelle Bucau of Vetagro for “The indispensable ethic: the Vet on all fronts”

Two special commendations:

- Robin Kuhn of INSA Lyon: “Once upon a time there was ethics”

- Thomas Crochon of IDRAC: “Marketing, creator of the connection between Business and the Consumer”

These 6 candidates were selected for the National Finals, for which the Jury will meet in Paris shortly.
