Summer Schools
Each year, INSA Lyon organises a large summer school during the months of August and September, principally dedicated to French courses for international students who come to do their first international cycle or spend one or two semesters at INSA.
During the summer 2010, a specific "summer school" lipdub was prepared and supervised by students and staff.
In 2009, a thematic and scientific school was organised within the framework of the European summer Campus. This summer school was part of the Franco-Japanese LIA, ELyT. www.elyt-lab.com
In 2010, based on similar bases, INSA received a group of Chinese students from the University of Tsinghua in Beijing. This summer school was based on subjects of the CEFCEET, energy and environment.
Indeed, the summer school at INSA is a genuine gateway to studying in France. It is part of a clear policy choice, and the quality of the services provided is a determining factor in the future success of international students.
The originality and specific nature of the programme are due to both the cultural mix (around 40 nationalities) and the different study levels of the participants, from the 1st cycle to the doctorate:
- students from the international section of the 1st Cycle: Asinsa, Amerinsa, Eurinsa, Scan,
- exchange students,
- students on international master's programmes,
- students on "Erasmus Mundus" programmes,
- doctoral students.
This year, the students came from more than 40 different countries.
Accommodation
The students are lodged in double rooms or individual studios, in the INSA Lyon student residences.
Leisure-time
A programme of events is scheduled throughout the summer school period. It includes guided tours of Lyon and its region, cultural activities, concerts, and “discovery” weekends are also proposed (as an option for exchange students).
The detailed timetable is given to students on their arrival.
Dining
Students take all their meals at Insa Restaurant, on the Campus.
Recognition of the ministry
For the second consecutive year, the International Relations Department and International Sections answered a call for tender of the ministry of Education and won a subsidy to support and improve the proposed services.
