Specialised Master’s Programme in the Environment
The MSME is changing name to ME4
The Specialised Master’s in Environmental Management and Industrial Safety is changing.
Created in 1992 on the initiative of a handful of major industrial groups (TOTAL, EDF, SITA SUEZ, LAFARGE, JST transformateur) and in partnership with INSA Lyon, the Specialised Master’s in Environmental Management and Industrial Safety will, from the start of the 2011/2012 academic year, take on a new dimension with the inclusion of an energy-related component within its educational framework.
It shall change its name, becoming the Specialised Master’s in Environmental Management and Eco Energy Efficiency with the slogan "ME4: training in sustainable development in line with Issue 4 of the Environmental Round Table".
In addition to the seven existing modules:
- Industrial ecology
- Technology and the Environment,
- Environmental Economics and Politics,
- Environmental Law,
- Environmental Management in Local Companies and Authorities
- Harmonised QHSE Management
- Communication, Information, Negotiation.
A new Energy Management module will be introduced, led by Thierry VELLE, Director of Sustainable Development at the Regional Delegation of EDF in the Rhône-Alpes Region. The content of this module can be summarised as follows:
- Current production of primary energy
- Renewable energies and perspectives
- Controlling energy demand
- Innovations for the energy of the future
- NF EN 16001 and ISO 50001
This Specialised Master’s is a programme which, each year, attracts around twenty students from vastly different backgrounds, including engineers, biologists, legal experts, economists, graduates from management institutes, etc.
The admissions process is as follows:
- Shortlist drawn up following applications (available to download on the web site)
- A panel interview at INSA Lyon (in May, June, July and September)
