Social Openness Group (GOS)
July 5th and 6th 2012 - INSA Lyon.
Building on the success encountered last July with the first edition of Social Diversity Encounters in Higher Education (RDSES) in Marseilles, the Social Openness Group (GOS) of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles decided to renew the operation in 2012.

Introductory round table: Should we use the term “diversity” or “diversities”? Comparative views from industry, the “grandes écoles” and universities.
Workshop 1: By making a parallel between the transition from secondary education to higher education and the transition from higher education to industry, can we see how companies address diversity or diversities? A global or differentiated approach? What lessons are to be taken for the transition from secondary to higher education?
Workshop 2: The distinctive case of overseas public: the particularities of overseas public, do you have to leave your home to be successful? How to address young people from overseas successfully?
Workshop 3: Should a different way of recruiting be used for really opening up to diversity? Company, university and major school cases.

Workshop 1: The need as analysed by the “grandes écoles” and as they could implement it.
Workshop 2: The need that public authorities have identified, for proposing to integrate this transition as a new question concerning the “lift up to success”? If so, what does this mean?
Workshop 3: The need as seen by students on the basis of their experience: young people working together, students from different milieus, handicapped students, female students, etc.
