New apprenticeship training accredited by CTI
Electrical Engineer
The Commission des Titres d’Ingénieurs (CTI / Engineer Qualification Committee) has accredited INSA Lyon to issue the "Electrical Engineer" diploma through apprenticeship training. After the Mechanical Engineering in Plastic Processing work-study programme launched in 2009, and the Mechanical Engineering, Design and Product Innovation programme which started in September 2011, this new course run in partnership with the "Institut des Techniques d’Ingénieur de l’Industrie de Lyon" (ITII / Lyon Institute of Technical Engineering for Industry) further complements the range of programmes on offer at INSA Lyon.
A 3-year work-study programme to become an Electrical Engineer
The objective of this work-study programme, which will start in September 2012, is to train field engineers; practical experts with a strong general technical and scientific culture in the fields of Electrical Engineering (electricity, electronics, signal processing, power electronics, automatic controls, industrial computing, telecommunications, etc.) that will allow them to adapt to the technologies and requirements of a constantly-changing, complex environment.
A first class of 24 apprentices
It will take in 24 apprentices with a BTS, DUT, or equivalent diplomas as well as students from the first cycle at INSA. Recruitment is in progress: 167 applications have been received, and 88 candidates called for interviews and tests; the admissions jury will convene on 10 May 2012. Candidates will be officially admitted following the signature of the contract with their host company. From September 2012, courses will be taught at INSA Lyon (basic science and Electrical Engineering, engineering sciences) and at the IRI (humanities and English). The IUT Lyon 1 - Gratte-Ciel campus will teach classes aimed at standardising the level of knowledge at the beginning of the course.
