Living on the Lyon Tech campus

The residences

INSA Lyon has a group of 11 residences that can be divided into two distinct sectors:

  • a first group that are hall type residences where the rooms are shared (between 2). These are residences A and B. These residences are reserved for first year students.
     
  • a second group of traditional residences containing accommodation of various layouts (studio, accommodation for two or three).

The hall type A and B residences reserved to the students of 1st year

Practical and general information

All the rooms are furnished (bed, desk, chair, wardrobe or cupboard). The rooms are equipped with kitchenettes (refrigerator and a hot plate).

  • Wifi internet connection.
  • Sheets and blankets are not provided.
  • No kitchen utensils are provided.
  • Upkeep of the room is the resident's responsibility.
  • Linen can be washed in INSA Lyon's launderettes.
  • The rooms are equipped with a shower room with a basin and shower.
  • The toilets are on the landings.

Prices applicable on the 1st July 2012 are fixed for the academic year and payment is monthly.

Price for a room with 2 beds: €250.00 per person.

The following should be added to the first term's rent:

  • A security deposit of 300 euros which is returned at the end of the course, less an amount for any damage caused in the residence.
  • Application fees : 57 euros
  • An insurance contribution which covers fire and water damage risks for the year is included in the rent. It is the resident's responsibility to take out insurance covering civil liability and theft.

The other residences: C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, Magellan

Each residence has a similar layout of accommodation: there are individual studios, double rooms, with variable rents according to the area, the occupation and the floor.

Please note:

  • Residences C, D and a few rooms in residence E are reserved for 2nd year students. These residences provide 2 to 3 student accommodation.
  • Apartments shared by several tenants are considered as a co-tenancy.

Practical and general information

  • All the apartments are equipped with kitchenettes, bathrooms and a WC.
  • All the rooms are furnished (bed, desk, chair, wardrobe or cupboard).
  • Telephone: telephone socket and line in the residences (via a contract with France Telecom).
  • Internet connection: via a network socket (RJ 45).
  • Sheets and blankets are not provided.
  • No kitchen utensils are provided.
  • Upkeep of the room is the resident's responsibility.
  • Linen can be washed in INSA Lyon's launderettes, or in outside launderettes.

CHARGES
fluids: water, heating, electricity - furniture - internet - shared areas -  residence staff and security charges.

Accommodation support

  • All the residences are eligible for accommodation support.
  • All accomodation support are paid directly to the landlord (INSA).
  • Accommodation for 2 or 3 students is considered as being a co-tenancy.
