"Lean Management leader"
Launch of the 4th "Lean" class at INSA Lyon
From February 2012, ten engineering students in the 5th year at INSA Lyon will begin a professional training contract in Lean Management lasting 8 months. This training, designed in partnership with METALLURGIE rhodanienne (Union of Metallurgy Industries and Professions in the Rhone area) provides engineering students with the opportunity to become Lean project managers. The professional training contract results in a "Lean Management Leader" qualification: French Metallurgy Industry Qualification Certificate (CQPM) in addition to the INSA engineering diploma. It is proposed to engineering students from four INSA Lyon Departments during their last year of training: Biosciences - Electrical Engineering - Industrial Engineering - Mechanical Engineering and Development.

The training programme
¼ of the time in studies and ¾ of the time in company
Training in:
1. the fundamental concepts on which Lean is based,
2. the different processes for progress and developing the invariants linked to all Lean processes,
3. the management methods for driving and maintaining the processes over time,
4. the principal Lean tools, integrating them into the process.
Note: since 2009, nearly 40 engineering students (mainly from the industrial Engineering Department) have participated in this training and led Lean Management missions in companies such as Sanofi Pasteur, Biomérieux, ERDF, Volvo, Renault Trucks and Thales.
