On Friday 15 March, 2012, 3D modelling of the Cérébrocar vehicle was presented to Doctors Pascal Giraux and Paul Calmels, who are in charge of the Centre for Physical and Readaptive Medicine (MPR) of St Etienne University Hospital. The dialog occupied a full afternoon, long enough for undergraduates to comprehend the problems of re-education and the expectations of doctors and of persons with a disability. In return, an alternative was presented for tetraplegics seeking to recover a degree of mobility.

The Project: a technological and human challenge

Over and above the acquisition of technical knowledge (CAD, sizing, choice of sensors, electronic programming, managing a UDP communication protocol, structured programming, tablet programming, etc.), the project was an opportunity for students to develop other skills:
- the ability to manage a project and work as part of a team
- communication and matching between their scientific and technical skills and the requirements expressed by the medical team .

The project also provided an initial contact with the management of disability and a dialog with the medical profession.
