Doing an internship
Discovering an international economical environment, specific working methods and adapting to multicultural situations are key factors in an engineer's training. This is why the Industrial Internship abroad is strongly recommended.
Lasting from four to six months, it is part of the curriculum of the twelve training sections, either at the end of the first or second year of specialisation, or at the start or end of the third and final year.
It can be done in countries as varied as China, India or Japan, Brazil, Mexico, the United States. The host companies are often multi-nationals, but also SMEs, and subsidiaries of French or foreign companies located in France, or not.
Generally, the student completes a project in a team according to a previously determined subject linked to the studies. A trilateral internship agreement is drawn up by the student's department, and the student must provide a report at the end of the internship. An evaluation is filled out by the student's internship tutor. During these internships, relations are often developed between the company and the INSA Lyon laboratories.
