Disability: students from the First Cycle

supply the Marrel Hospital in Rive de Gier with a driving simulator

On 27 January 2012, a driving simulator was delivered to the Rehabilitation Centre at the Marrel Hospital in Rive de Gier. This innovative system was supplied at cost price and enabled a public organisation to equip its centre with a system that it could not otherwise afford (market price 15 times higher). This apparatus was produced by 2nd year students over a ten month period (from September 2010 to June 2011) as part of the First Cycle cross-functional projects that combine mechanics, electronics, computing and production techniques.

This project was made possible due to the synergy operating in the First Cycle study programme:

- Design courses (30hrs of system design-purchasing orders),
- Production courses (20hrs of system manufacturing),
- Thematic development: embedded systems (30hrs production and programming of electronics),
- Computing courses (20hrs of software programming and graphic display development).
