For several years now, INSA Lyon has had its own effective and independent department dedicated to French as a Foreign Language.

The Department of French as a Foreign Language (SFLE) provides exchange students and foreign researchers with made-to-measure French courses.

This department also organises courses for INSA Lyon's external customers.

Notably, the service quality has been awarded with the “Label Qualité FLE” by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

In order to facilitate the integration of exchange students, INSA Lyon offers them the opportunity to improve their French through intensive classes, either during summer school (6 weeks in August/September), or in January/February for students from the southern hemisphere, as well as regular classes throughout the university year.
